Flaxseeds are nutrient-rich seeds that contain a variety of vitamins and minerals, antioxidants and lignans. These seeds come in two main types: golden (or yellow) and brown. Golden flaxseed is made up of about 37.5% fat, 23% protein, and 30% carbohydrates. They have more polyunsaturated fatty acids and less monounsaturated fatty acids compared to brown flaxseeds. The flaxseed is grown according to organic standards without the use of chemicals or pesticides.
